
Ruben Gutierrez
Ruben Gutierrez serves as Chief Legal Officer at Baylor Genetics. He brings more than two decades of legal, corporate governance, and healthcare industry experience, with a strong background in genomics and diagnostic testing. Prior to joining Baylor Genetics, Ruben was the inaugural General Counsel of Foresight Diagnostics until its acquisition by Natera. Before that, he served as General Counsel at SomaLogic and as Vice President, Legal and Corporate Affairs at Natera.
Earlier in his career, Ruben served as General Counsel of Human Longevity, a genomics research and health intelligence company, and as Division Counsel, Biosciences at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Prior to Thermo Fisher’s acquisition of Life Technologies, he held positions of increasing responsibility within the Life Technologies legal organization, including Lead M&A Diligence and Integrations Counsel and Lead Corporate Counsel for the Ion Torrent next-generation sequencing business unit.
Ruben earned a Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation from New York University School of Law, a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
