

Romy Fawaz
MS
Romy Fawaz serves as a Genetic Counselor at Baylor Genetics and has four years of experience in the field of healthcare and genetics. In addition, Romy has clinical experience in pediatric, prenatal, and oncology genetics, and research experience in preventive medical genomics.
Romy received her bachelor’s degree in biology and biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma, in Norman. After graduating, Romy moved to Boston, Massachusetts and began working as a research coordinator for a preventative clinical genomic research group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
After working in the clinical research field, Romy continued her education and completed her genetic counseling graduate education at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. Romy is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors with participation in the laboratory and research special interest groups. In addition, she is a mentor in the Minority Genetics Professional Network and an active member in the Arab Association of Genetic Counselors.
In her free time, Romy enjoys playing tennis, bowling, baking, cheering on her favorite college football teams (OU and WY), and catching up on her favorite TV shows.
