Katharina Schulze

Assistant Clinical Director
Dr. Katharina Schulze serves as Assistant Clinical Director and supports the NGS/molecular genetics and CMA divisions at Baylor Genetics. In addition to her role at Baylor Genetics, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).
In 2014, Dr. Schulze received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bioinformatics from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. Later, she earned a PhD in genetics and genomics from BCM, where she focused her studies on changes in DNA methylation in infants of diabetic mothers and children with severe malnutrition.
After graduation, Dr. Schulze trained as a fellow in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Fellowship at BG and BCM. In 2022, Dr. Schulze successfully completed her fellowship and is currently board eligible for the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). She plans to take the ABMGG certification exam in 2023.
