Just a quick reminder that the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday 11.23 and the Friday after Thanksgiving 11.24 are both Baylor Genetics holidays. Please see the chart below for a summary of reporting, accessioning and client services over the holiday. If there are cases that require special attention over the holiday, please contact us as soon as possible regarding how best to handle these.
Irreplaceable specimens drawn Wednesday, November 22nd should be held at your site and shipped on Friday, November 24th for Saturday delivery. This will help minimize the risk of mishandling. Ensure the FedEx label is properly marked for specimen(s) needing Saturday delivery. Local clients may contact Client Services at 713.798.6555 to arrange stat pickup of a particular specimen or to move up a regular pickup (if all procedures have been completed, for example). Please keep in mind that send outs to and reporting by other laboratories (such as for viral studies or NIPT studies) may be affected by those laboratories’ holiday schedules. NIPT specimens must be received by the NIPT laboratory within 5 days of collection.
