On Friday, December 22nd, Baylor Genetics’ lab will be open to receive specimens and report available prenatal FISH results in the morning. All other prenatal reports will not be issued, including prenatal FISH needing repeat analysis and prenatal CMA. Reports not issued by Friday, December 22nd at noon will be issued on Tuesday, December 26th.
On Friday, December 29th, Baylor Genetics will be open for standard reporting including prenatal FISH and prenatal CMA. Reports not issued by the close of business on Friday, December 30th will be issued on Tuesday, January 3rd.
Send outs to and reporting performed by other laboratories (such as viral studies and NIPT) may be affected by those laboratories’ holiday schedules and the FedEx holiday schedule. NIPT specimens must arrive within five days of collection to the NIPT laboratory. Please schedule patients and sample shipments to Baylor Genetics accordingly.
Local Houston-area clients may contact Client Services at 1.800.411.4363 to arrange a stat pickup of a particular specimen or to move up a regular pickup if all procedures are complete.
