RNA Sequencing Analysis Now Seamlessly Integrated with Whole Genome Sequencing and Whole Exome Sequencing

Effective March 24, 2026, all new Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) orders will automatically include RNA Sequencing (RNA-Seq) analysis for eligible proband samples when a qualifying variant is identified.¹ RNA-Seq analysis will no longer be available as an opt-in or opt-out option, ensuring eligible cases have access and benefit from enhanced variant interpretation.²

Phase Out Dates by Ordering Channel

Note: For Epic Aura ordering, users may continue opting out of RNA‑Seq until their system transitions to the updated test catalog, expected in Summer 2026.

Opt-Out Orders Placed Before March 24, 2026

The details that follow apply specifically to opt-out orders placed prior to March 24, 2026, that have not been reported.

• Fewer ordering decisions when submitting WGS/WES tests
• Automatic RNA-Seq analysis when variant and sample criteria are met
