FAQs: Phlebotomy

Answers for providers who have questions about phlebotomy.

Yes, we’ve teamed up with phlebotomy networks to provide you with two flexible options:

  • Patient service centers through My One Medical Source (MOMS): In-person blood draws at over 250,000 locations nationwide.
  • Mobile service through Travalab: At-home blood draws that come to you.
  • Please speak with your Baylor Genetics sales representative to learn more about these services.

Patients can schedule directly:

  • Patient service centers through My One Medical Service (MOMS) are available at no charge when a blood draw option is not available to them.
  • Mobile service through Travalab is patient pay, and Travalab will work directly with the patient on payment options.

Patients will need their test order information and the sample collection kit provided by Baylor Genetics. The phlebotomy service will confirm order details and appointment logistics directly with the patient.

  • To find out if your patient has scheduled a sample collection, you can contact your patient directly to confirm their appointment status.
  • Once the sample has been collected, our phlebotomy provider will coordinate delivery to our lab. Once your patient’s sample reaches our facility, you can track it through our provider portal or Epic (if integrated).

These services are available for many tests that can be run on blood, such as:

  • Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) (Rapid or Standard)
  • Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) (Rapid or Standard)
  • Genetic Panels
  • Chromosomal Microarray Analysis (CMA)
  • Mitochondrial Testing
